Culture

Mirarr culture is ancient and strong. Mirarr lands include many traditional places of significance including sacred sites – the best known being Djidpidjidpi (Mout Brockman) adjacent to the Ranger uranium mine – and rock art galleries dating back millennia.

Mirarr culture is ancient but it is not merely ‘historical’. Mirarr people today live within a dynamic set of beliefs and narratives which determines the way they interact and behave. Mirarr culture is a responsive system which continues to adapt to modern circumstance, technologies and demands.
